Budget Advisory Working Group Town Hall

Public Meeting -- June 10

The Tredyffrin Township's Budget Advisory Working Group will host a public Town Hall meeting at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, June 10, to solicit public input on ways to address ongoing budget concerns in Tredyffrin Township. The meeting will be held at the Tredyffrin Township Building on Duportail Road, Berwyn.

Declines in real estate transfer taxes have highlighted a situation where the Township's expenses are growing faster than revenues. The Tredyffrin Board of Supervisors appointed a Budget Advisory Working Group (BAWG), and asked the group to make recommendations on steps to help address this imbalance. The seven BAWG members, all Tredyffrin residents and volunteers, are: Tom Colman (Chairman), Rob Betts, David Bookstaber, John Corr, Robin Gorneau, Hank Lloyd, and Joe Muir.

As part of its project, the BAWG is seeking ideas and suggestions throughout the Township, and has invited all interested residents to attend a public meeting on June 10. Residents will be asked comment on Township expenses, services and taxes, for example:
  • What services are most important to local residents?
  • What are residents' views on the current and future tax burden?
  • Would residents prefer to increase taxes in order to maintain or expand services?
  • What services would local residents be willing to see reduced or eliminated?
The Budget Advisory Working Group has also established an email address: tredyffrinBAWG@Gmail.com, where residents can also send suggestions, questions and advice regarding the budget challenges.

BAWG representatives are also available to attend meetings of local neighborhood groups and civic associations. Interested groups are asked to contact Robin Gorneau, 610.695.2306.
