Swimming Pool Code Safety

  1. Check to see that all pool filtering equipment is still grounded correctly as this may be overlooked during reassembly after winterization.  NOTE: Always shut the power off when working on electrical pool equipment.
  2. Check to see that all pool perimeter fencing is not in disrepair so that a minimum 48" high barrier is maintained to secure the pool area.
  3. Be sure that all doors directly accessing the pool area are equipped with an appropriate alarm mechanism. NOTE: A building security system that chimes when a door is opened is acceptable.
  4. All operable gates as part of the fence barrier shall be self-closing with the ability to be self-latching from a distance of 12" to closure.

The Tredyffrin Township's Department of Inspection and Permit Services wishes all Township residents, especially our pool owners, a safe and enjoyable summer season.

Please feel free to contact us with code questions or concerns.
