Recap March 22, 2010 School Board Meeting The School Board met in regular session on March 22, 2010 at 7:30 pm at Conestoga High School.   The March 22nd meeting is currently airing on T/E TV, Comcast Channel 14 and Verizon Channel 20 daily at 9:00 pm.   Click for the meeting recap. Budget Press Release from March 22, 2010 School Board Meeting  At its regular meeting on March 22nd, the T/E School Board voted in favor of a resolution that authorizes the Superintendent to take all actions necessary to obtain the approval of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Education (PDE), for the curtailment of the District's educational program, or programming adjustments.   In addition, the Board adopted a resolution urging legislative action on the Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS). The projected net costs to the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District and its taxpayers would exceed $37 million between the 2010-2011 school year and the 2014-2015 school year.   Click to read the full press release.   Click to read the PSERS resolution. TREDYFFRIN TOWNSHIP - LEAF SITE UPDATE

The Tredyffrin Township Cassatt Road Leaf Site will be open for Tredyffrin Township residents on the following dates:

• Saturday, March 27, 9 am to 3 pm
• Saturday, April 3, 9 am to 3 pm

Residents may drop off leaves in bio-degradable bags, as well as sticks and branches meeting the following requirements: less than 6" diameter and no longer than 12', and no shorter than 4'. 

 

Please note the following items are prohibited: fresh or rotten firewood, twigs, vines, stumps, roots, garden debris, thorn bushes and hedge clippings.

March 8, 2010 Finance Committee Meeting: Draft Budget Strategies  The Finance Committee will meet on March 8, 2010 at 7:30 pm at Conestoga High School to discuss the 2010-2011 budget. In an effort to recommend strategies to close the budget gap, the Finance Committee will continue its review of the draft budget materials at its February 8th meeting. The March 8th background materials are the same budget strategies that were reviewed at the February Finance Committee meeting. Pennsylvania School Employee Retirement System (PSERS) Information PSERS is a governmental, mandatory defined benefit pension plan for Pennsylvania school employees. According to data from PSERS, the employer contribution rate is expected to increase sharply over the next four years and have a significant impact on Pennsylvania school district budgets.   Click to read more information about PSERS. School Bus Safety Law Reminder The T/E School District Transportation Department has received reports of motorists violating Pennsylvania's School Bus Stopping Law. Motorists must stop when approaching a school bus with red signal lights flashing. Citizens witnessing the violation of this law may report the violation to the police.
