Red Cross Blood Drive

Thank you to everyone who came out and donated to the Blood Drive held in Keene Hall on Wednesday, January 28, 2015.  It was the Township's most successful drive to date. If you missed your chance to help out, go to  www.redcrossblood.org and find a drive near you.

Public Hearing

The public hearing for the Wayne Glen Conditional Use application was continued to Monday, February 9, 2015, at 7 PM in Keene Hall.

Winter Storm Ordinance Requirements

The Police Department, along with the Fire Departments, EMS responders, and Public Works teams need your help during winter storms.

The Public Works crews spend countless hours trying to safely clear the streets during snow events. The added burden of re-clearing public roadways create both logistic and safety issues; not to mention a drain on township budgetary funds.

Accumulated snow in the streets can slow emergency response and increases the threat to public safety. Pushing or plowing snow into the streets is prohibited by Ordinance. Please avoid this activity and instruct your contractors to do the same.

Additionally, during declared snow emergencies, please do not park vehicles on the streets that make up the snow emergency routes. Vehicles parked in the streets along snow emergency routes make it harder for Public Works crews to keep these important streets passable for emergency vehicles. Parking on snow emergency routes during declared snow emergencies is also prohibited by Ordinance. For further information, please refer to the list of these snow route streets on our website at www.tredyffrin.org

Finally, in addition to clearing a 24 inch path on the sidewalk 30 hours after a snow storm, please remember to dig out fire hydrants that are located next to the streets that your property may border.

Your cooperation with these vital winter storm requirements will improve your safety and the overall safety of our community!

Thank you for your cooperation,

Anthony Giaimo

Funding and Fundraising Update

The libraries continue to face a budgetary deficit as operational revenue has not kept pace with ongoing operational costs. In 2014, the library staff were able to reduce spending materials and staff hours, and there was a major increase in ongoing fundraising activity led by the Library Board of Trustees. The 2014 Annual Appeal mailing saw an uptick of nearly 25% over 2013, which had an impact on the budgeting process. Additionally, a number of events to supplement fundraising revenues has been established. Efforts in 2015 will be focused on continuing to build a culture of fundraising and developing the Public/Private partnership and encouraging more donations from individuals and corporations, as well as grants and events.
