Inspection and Codes Ah – spring is in the air and we are all looking forward to the nicer weather. But with the change of seasons also comes the time to start our yard work for the year. Keep in mind that homeowners and business owners are responsible for the upkeep of their property; for keeping the area clear of anything that may make passage difficult; and for keeping sight lines clear for safer traffic flow. The Tredyffrin Township Property Maintenance Code states: § 149-5. Minimum requirements for building exterior and outside premises. 5.A.1(b) Hedges, trees, shrubs or other vegetation that obstruct the approach sight distance of any highway, street, driveway, traffic signal, traffic signal sign or crosswalk. A(6) All outside premises, whether occupied or vacant, shall be kept free of unsanitary conditions and of all nuisances and any hazards to the safety of occupants, pedestrians and other persons utilizing or exposed to the premises; branches or limbs that overhang walkways shall be no less than seven (7) feet above the walkway below. B. Landscaping. Premises with landscaping and lawns, hedges and bushes shall be kept from becoming overgrown and unsightly where exposed to public view, so that they do not constitute a blighting factor to adjoining property. By working together, we can continue to keep Tredyffrin the beautiful and pleasant place it is to visit or to live. Happy Spring! Mike Pilotti Sr. Code Official |
