Inspection and Permit Services

Finally, the season we all wait so patiently for. And rightfully so. Now that the beautiful fall season is upon us, soon those wonderful autumn colors will eventually find their way down onto the lawn and, if not careful, into our lower backs. Then, you may think that with a little lighter fluid and a match book your back pain can be avoided in short order. On behalf of your Township's code enforcement staff, I encourage you to please re-think that task. As much as I can appreciate avoiding extremely annoying lower back pain, it is the negative effects leaf burning may have on neighboring properties, as good neighbors, we all have to consider: windows may be open; laundry may be on the line; persons with allergies who could have a reaction to smoke in general could be nearby. But the most important consideration is the possibility that the burning leaf pile could quickly spread out of control to the point where Fire Department resources are required in an effort to prevent and/or save us from possible loss of property. So, have an enjoyable change of season this fall while your yard crew takes good care of disposing those falling wonders.

Oh, and yes, it is considered unlawful to burn openly within Tredyffrin Township.
