T/E School Board Recommends Further Study on Earned Income Tax EIT Referendum Question Will Not Appear on May 2011 Primary Election Ballot At its regular meeting on October 25, 2010, the T/E School Board decided not to move forward with an EIT referendum at this time. The Board did pass a resolution to further study the EIT topic in 2011. The Board's decision follows a community informational meeting on an EIT that was held at Conestoga High School on October 18th. Approximately 100 residents attended the informational meeting where a representative of the Pennsylvania Economy League and the T/E School District solicitor presented pertinent information. Additionally the T/E School District (TESD) has since posted Frequently Asked Questions on an EIT on the TESD web site, and has also received on-line feedback from community members. 2011-2012 School Year Calendar The 2011-2012 school year calendar is now available on the T/E School District web site under "Calendar" on the home page, www.tesd.net. Click here to view a summary of the calendar.   The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 will be August 31, 2011. The first day of school for kindergarten students will be September 7, 2011. The tentative last day of school for students in grades 1-12 will be a half day on June 11, 2012.
