At its June 20th public meeting, the Board of Supervisors introduced a new way of developing amendments to the Zoning Ordinance or Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance. Draft ordinances will be introduced to the Board at an earlier stage to solicit their guidance and reaction, as well as additional public input. Most ordinances like this will be discussed by the Board at a series of public meetings, not just one. Depending on the subject matter or open questions, some ordinances may rotate back and forth between the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors. The goal is to encourage more interaction between the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors during the process of developing regulations that will guide future redevelopment in Tredyffrin Township. The new process will begin with the sidewalk amendment to the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance. The Sidewalk Subcommittee laid out an initial recommendation for the amendment. The Planning Commission suggested some changes. The Board of Supervisors will begin its review of the ordinance at its meeting on Monday, July 18th, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Township Building. |
