School Board Defeats Motion to Provide Notification to Townships on Intent to Levy Earned Income Tax   EIT Referendum Question Will Not Appear on April 2012 Primary Election Ballot At a special meeting on November 14, 2011, by a vote of 7-2, the T/E School Board voted not to move forward with an earned income tax (EIT) referendum at this time. November 16, 2011, is the deadline for the School Board to provide non-binding notification to Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships of the School District's intent to include a voter referendum question for an EIT on the April 24, 2012 primary election ballot. School districts must obtain voter approval by means of a voter referendum on the primary election ballot in order to levy an EIT. The Board's decision followed a presentation of the Earned Income Tax Study Group report on the pros, cons and other considerations of implementation of an EIT.   Click here for a recap of the meeting.
