| Update on Budget Strategies from Finance Committee Meeting On February 13, 2012, the School Board met to discuss proposed strategies to close the 2012-2013 budget gap. One budget strategy discussed was the implementation of sports and activity fees. The Committee has asked the administration to move forward with additional research on these fees as a revenue generating strategy. Sports and activity fees will be discussed again at the March 19, 2012 Budget Workshop. In addition, the Committee presented an offer from the Tredyffrin/Easttown Non-Instruction Group (TENIG.) The offer was the custodial staff would waive their 4.5% contracted pay increase for 2012-2013 and take a 10% reduction in salary. The offer is contingent upon the School Board removing custodial outsourcing as a budget strategy for the remainder of 2012-2013. Click for the full press release. | | School Board Presents "Success & Sustainability" to the Community
During the past five weeks, Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board members visited sixteen parent and community group meetings to provide information on the financial state of the T/E School District during the "Success and Sustainability" presentations. School Board members reached approximately 500 community members during the presentations and received positive feedback for their efforts. The "Success and Sustainability" presentation is currently available on the T/E School District web site. Several more presentations to the community are scheduled through mid-March.
