| Negotiations Update: TEEA Negotiator Refuses to Discuss Healthcare Options
The T/E School District began bargaining with the Tredyffrin/Easttown Teachers Association (TEEA) on January 9, 2012 as required by law. The School District is represented by professional negotiator Jeffrey Sultanik and the TEEA is represented by Ruthann Waldie, a professional negotiator paid for by the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA.) Since that initial bargaining session the two sides have met three times, most recently on February 29, 2012. It was at this bargaining session that the District sought to move negotiations forward by suggesting discussions about healthcare since it is such a critical aspect of the contract. Success & Sustainability Presentation on TETV During the past five weeks, Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board members visited sixteen parent and community group meetings to provide information on the financial state of the T/E School District during the "Success and Sustainability" presentations. School Board members reached approximately 500 community members during the presentations and received positive feedback for their efforts. The Board recognizes the importance of reaching the entire community with this presentation and, as a result, shared the "Success and Sustainability" presentation at the February 27, 2012 regular Board meeting. The presentation is currently airing on TETV, Comcast Channel 14 and Verizon Channel 20, daily at 5:00 pm. It will air throughout the month of March.
