| | | January 7, 2013 Special School Board Meeting: 2013-2014 Budget
The School Board will hold a special meeting on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 7:30 pm in the Tredyffrin/Easttown Administration Offices to consider the 2013-2014 budget. The School Board will vote on using allowable exceptions to Act 1, the Pennsylvania Taxpayer Relief Act, to raise taxes above the State index of 1.7% for the 2013-2014 school year. If the Board votes to apply for the exceptions, the preliminary budget will be displayed on January 8, 2013 for public comment. The Board will then consider this preliminary budget at its January 28, 2013 Regular Board Meeting. The T/E School Board and administration will continue to work towards balancing the budget and determining a final tax rate between now and final budget approval in June 2013. The T/E School Board encourages public participation during the budget development process so that the budget reflects the input of joint stakeholders. | January 9, 2013 Community Meeting on School Safety Wednesday, January 9, 2013 7:00-9:00 pm Valley Forge Middle School In response to the December 14, 2012 tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, the Tredyffrin/Easttown School Board and administration will hold a community meeting on school safety on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Valley Forge Middle School auditorium. The meeting will feature a panel of experienced safety experts including representatives from the Tredyffrin and Easttown police departments, District building architects and representatives from the District Safety Committee. The panel will review the District's safety protocols in place, and present information on recently added security measures and plans to evaluate enhancements to school safety. There will be a question and answer period for parents and community members following the presentation. The T/E School District encourages parents and community members to attend the School Safety meeting on January 9, 2013 to learn more about school safety and new security measures in our schools. The School Safety meeting will be videotaped and later aired on T/E TV, Comcast Channel 14 and Verizon Channel 20. The TV schedule for the meeting will be posted on the T/E School District web site, www.tesd.net once it becomes available. |
2013 Kindergarten Registration Information
For Children Entering T/E Schools for the First Time in September 2013 Registration for kindergarten and first grade students new to the T/E School District will be held during the week of February 4, 2013. Children who plan to enter the T/e School District in grades two through four in September are also encouraged to register at this time.
