Tredyffrin Township declares Snow Emergency effective Tuesday, February 4, 11pm to Wednesday, February 5, 6pm
Berwyn, PA (February 4, 2014): Tredyffrin Township will be declaring a snow emergency effective Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11pm and ending Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 6pm. In addition to the travel restrictions associated with this declaration, the Township is strongly urging residents to stay home if possible. The combination of snow and ice will make road conditions very hazardous for travel.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from February 4, 11pm until February 5, 1pm for Eastern Chester County, which includes extremely hazardous snow and ice conditions. This storm will be impacting the region starting tonight, and is expected to bring significant icing due to freezing rain, as well as the potential for 6+ inches of snow. The icing and snow will make travel difficult. There is the potential for a major icing event, which would result in damage to tree limbs and power lines.

The Township Department of Public Works and PennDOT work around the clock to maintain roads
within the Township. Please remember that it takes 8 to 10 hours after a storm ends to complete clean
up, assuming normal conditions.
