| Finance Committee Recommends Sports and Activity Fee for 2012-2013 School Year As part of this year's budget development process, the Tredyffrin/Easttown District and School Board have been reviewing strategies to address the 2012-2013 budget deficit. Under consideration for the past three years has been the implementation of a sports and activity participation fee to offset expenses. At its April 9, 2012 meeting, the Board Finance Committee recommended a sports and activities participation fee for the 2012-2013 school year for consideration by the full Board. If approved by the Board and implemented, a participation fee of $50 will be collected from each high school and middle school student involved in sports or activities. This participation fee will be charged once for participation in one or more activities during the 2012-2013 school year. Included in the participation fee are all high school and middle school sports and activities that have a paid coach or advisor or use District-funded transportation. As part of the Board's consideration of the participation fee, the high school club sports of crew, ice hockey, rugby, and squash are not included at this time. A list of sports and activities that will incur a fee can be found at this link: www.tesd.net/fees.
